We are comprised of residents from all walks of life and political perspectives, dedicated to elevating the standard of living for all who call this place home. Our mission is to create a council free from partisan politics and divisive political distractions. Together, we can forge a brighter future for all residents and local businesses, guided by the needs of our community, where residents are truly listened to and involved, not placated.

We are committed to a fact based and balanced approach that invests in essential public services and infrastructure, while also prioritising the well-being of our environment and local heritage.

  • Volunteer your timeDuring the run up to the local elections, we desperately need people to help us spread the word. Whether that is delivering leaflets, having boards in their gardens or simply telling your friends.

  • Stand as a councillorWe need people who are passionate about making a difference in their community, who care more about the area and can see a better way for our community than political tribalism. Our Aims, Policies & Objectives

Our purpose is to encourage, endorse and support independent minded candidates who are dedicated to representing the interests and views of local residents and businesses with integrity and free of any party whip, in accordance with the principles of the party.

We are open to all who share our objectives, values and agree to be bound by our constitution and the principles of open, accessible and responsive democracy.

Accountability & Democracy

We are dedicated to ensuring that all residents have a voice in shaping the future and that the use of public resources is transparent and accountable to those the council serves. We also recognise the importance of fostering meaningful partnerships with resident groups and promoting resident engagement, pushing towards a more accountable and democratic future.

Environment and Sustainability

We are committed to a more comprehensive approach to planning that gives priority to the needs of residents, the unique heritage of our area and safeguards our environment. To this end, we will actively push for increased monitoring and a targeted approach to reducing emissions, with a commitment to a more sustainable and habitable community for residents.

Communities and Businesses

We are committed to leveraging the distinctive assets of our area - its markets, events, and scenic beauty - to drive economic growth and support local businesses. Our top priority will be ensuring that every decision places the needs and interests of local businesses at the forefront, providing them with the resources and support they need to thrive and succeed.

Housing & Planning

We are committed to fair and equitable housing policies that prioritise the needs of residents. We will resist plans that prioritise the interests of developers and the national government over those of local residents. We will work tirelessly to create a more transparent and accountable planning process, ensuring that every aspect of our policy and process respect and support residents.

Transport & Leisure

We will prioritise initiatives that drive footfall and reduce car journeys, with more widespread access to electric charging across car parks and on street. Pushing for increased alternative transportation options, greater choice and access to outdoor activities and pursuits, further development of recreational facilities and investment in community transportation.

Our financial scheme sets out the arrangements for regulating the financial affairs of the party for the purposes of Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act (PPERA).
